Meet Danna Rodman

Share the Lifestyle changes you have made:

I have taken out refined and denatured food and replaced it with food that has real ingredients. In the past I ate out several times a week and didn’t want to cook meals for my husband and I because I didn’t think I enjoyed cooking. After learning and seeing what nutrient dense food does for our well being I am loving cooking!

When did you implement these changes? September 2016

Share an example of what foods you eat each day:

My favorite breakfast is bacon, a slice of sourdough bread toasted with lots of butter, and a glass of raw milk. A few staples we have for lunch and dinner are hamburgers, roast, pizza, chicken soup, chili, and chicken a variety of ways. Oh and my favorite veggie is a sweet potato sliced and cooked in bacon drippings!

How many pounds have you said goodbye to: 20

What changes have you noticed in how you feel, since you changed the food you eat?

I feel so much better since changing the foods I eat. In the past I struggled with headaches and migraines. I would have a headache almost every day. Now I don’t have them! I also have much more energy and don’t feel like I need at nap every afternoon.

What type of exercise do you enjoy each week?

I enjoy lifting weights and walking my dog as often as I can.

A few more comments from Danna:

Throughout my life I had struggled with what to eat to be healthy. I had always thought it was zero fat and spinach. This led me to trying to eat ‘healthy’, starving, and then falling off the wagon and giving up. Now after learning about nutrient dense food and healthy fats I am actually full and satisfied throughout the day! I look forward to my meals every day and I know I am Nourishing my body. It is so freeing!

43 pounds (started at 203 pounds and now weigh 160 pounds)

Share the Lifestyle changes you have made:

In August 2015 I started and have continued exercise classes with Female Moxie Boot Camp and Boot Camp Gold. Since this program emphasized clean eating as an important part of healthy living, I began to study how to improve our eating habits. Sherry has provided great resources and organized a support group to encourage this fantastic journey. My husband, Chuck, is diabetic and has congestive heart failure, so it was important to refine his diet also. I thought we were following a good plan until I started to study with our wellness group! Now, we eat real food…nothing processed. We are not eating 100% organic, but we are headed in that direction. Eating out is very limited and there is no more diet sodas and fast foods.

Share an example of what foods you eat each day:

I start my day with a good breakfast: 2 eggs, uncured bacon, coffee and ½ glass of raw grass fed cow’s milk. I add 1 tablespoon coconut oil in my coffee.

Mid-morning snack: about 10 crispy almonds

Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken breast

Mid-afternoon snack: ½ apple

Dinner: Grilled Salmon, spinach and mushrooms sautéed in butter, steamed squash with onions, and fresh pineapple with a drizzle of dark chocolate.

What changes have you noticed in how you feel, since you changed the food you eat?

My health has greatly improved. I take no medications! My blood pressure is right where it should be. Probably the most important change is my positive attitude about myself and this life-style change.

What type of exercise do you enjoy each week?

I enjoy working out with Chuck and my friends in Boot Camp Gold. I enjoy the variety of exercise that Sherry plans for us.
